                      Convert audio file from aiff to mp3

STEP 1 : Add the aiff audio file to the iTunes library.

1(A) You can add the aiff audio file to the iTunes easily by drag & drop. 

or

1(B) You can add the aiff audio to the iTunes library by :

➠ Click File in the menu bar and then click on Add to library.

➠ Choose the audio file from the desired location and click Open.

STEP 1 (COMPLETED) : Now the aiff audio file is added to the iTunes library.

STEP 2 : Change Preferences 

2(A) Click iTunes in the menu bar and then click on Preferences. 

                                                                                                                                                                          

2(B) Now click on Import Settings in the window that appears.

          2(C) Now choose the option MP3 Encoder under Import Using.

2(D) Then choose the required audio quality for the mp3 version under Setting.

2(E) Check the checkbox for clear audio output and then click OK.

STEP 2 (COMPLETED) : Again click OK in the general settings.

STEP 3 : Converting to MP3

3(A) Select the aiff audio file you need to convert and go to File in the menu bar and click Convert and then choose the option Create MP3 version.

3(B) You can see the audio being converted here.

3(C) Finally, the audio file is converted from aiff to mp3 and you can see the converted mp3 version just under the original file. 

STEP 4 : You can verify whether it is in mp3 version.

4(A) Just drag and drop the file into the desktop and see if it is in .mp3 extension.

4(B) You can also check it by : Right click and choose Get Info.

4(C) Here you can see that the audio is MP3 format.
